Tessa Allen Biography
Tessa Allen Biography
14 year old Tessa Allen is a young veteran in the acting world. She began acting in commercials at the age of 4 months old and hasn't looked back since. At age 3, Tessa was in a popular McDonald's Happy Meal commercial for a dress up Tigger toy, and at age 4 was picked up to co-star along Jennifer Lopez and Billy Campbell as their daughter Gracie in the 2002 movie Enough. She received much praise for her ability to portray a wide a range of emotions at such a young age, as well as her ability to interact with the rest of the cast and crew incredibly well.
As Enough finished filming Tessa was selected to play Hannah Hansen on NBC's hit family drama Providence. She was the first non-twin to play Hannah and continued in the role for 2 seasons before the show was cancelled. In 2003 Tessa guest-starred in the Season 1 finale of CSI:Miami as Emma Kaye, a girl who is kidnapped from an escaped offender. Her performance was once again praised by both her co-workers and viewers of CSI:Miami for again portraying an emotional character extremely well.
Tessa then moved onto a short 3 episode role on ABC soap opera General Hospital as Molly, a young girl trapped in the Port Charles hotel fire. She impressed the executives and directors of the show so much that a month later Tessa was asked to take over the recurring role of Lulu Spencer. This move was very impressive in the soap opera world as the character had to be de-aged in order for Tessa to take over the role, as she was a year younger then the previous actress. Tessa stayed on the show for a year until Lulu was aged considerably and another actress took the part.
After leaving General Hospital, Tessa took a breather from acting for a year to focus on the many sports and dance teams she is apart of, appearing in only a few commercials as well as the short film Walls of Jericho which she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in the 168 Film Festival. Tessa returned to acting, appearing in numerous commercials and various short films. One of her short films, "Open House", won top honors at the REEL Women's Film Festival, where again Tessa received much praise for her performance. In late 2007 Tessa was chosen to star as Greta in the short film “Little Canyon”. The short received great reviews and was chosen to be a part of the prestigious Sundance Film Festival in 2009 where again Tessa received much praise for her work. The film is currently being developed into a full length feature film under the name “Arcadia”, and although we hope Tessa can continue her role as Greta no casting news has been announced.
When she is not acting, Tessa enjoys being with her family, traveling, photography, hanging out with her friends and most of all playing volleyball and soccer.
